Making Fish (Grades 7–9)
In partnership with Parks Canada, this program uses historic artifacts and archival documents to illustrate the process of salting cod from the catch to the cull. Students head, gut and split fish as they learn about the credit system used between fishermen and merchants and discover the challenges fishing families faced in Newfoundland and Labrador. This program includes a visit to our two new museum galleries: The Husky Energy Gallery and The Elinor Gill Ratcliffe Gallery.
