100th Anniversary of the Battle of Cambrai, France November 20th–December 3rd, 1917
At the Battle of Cambrai in November 2017, the Newfoundland Regiment needed to secure the town of Masnières, France. They suffered heavy losses in the early going but played a key role in securing the town.
This pop-up exhibit explores the story of the battle and some of the Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who fought and died there. And how, faced with fierce German counter-attacks and bombardment, the Newfoundland line held.
