Backpacking at The Rooms
Sparks and Beavers (ages 5 - 7) |
Wednesday at 6:30 pm Saturday at 11am or 2:30 pm
Program is 1 hour in length

| Your backpack is filled with everything you need for a bird watching adventure and habitat exploration in our Connections Gallery. Find out what bird’s call sounds like a chain saw; what do black bears like to eat; and why is the Newfoundland wolf extinct? Don’t forget to help the birds in your backyard by creating your very own birdfeeder. |
Beaver to Beaver
Beavers (ages 5 - 7) |

| A hands-on, fun-filled one hour program where Beavers - the children, will find out about beavers - the rodent. As they look closely at the amazing animal their group is named for, they'll see how people are connected to nature and how they can help take care of it. |
Birds and Backpacks

| Do you enjoy bird watching? Which birds visit your feeders? Ever wonder why some birds migrate? Your backpack is loaded with tools to help you find out more about these peculiar species. On this adventure, go bird watching, play the migration game and create a birdfeeder for your very own backyard. |
Exploration at The Rooms

| The essence of exploration begins at The Rooms. Find out about the tools early explorers used; create a map that looks like it may have come from an explorer’s ship hundred’s of years ago; and become an explorer yourself as you follow a special Rooms map to navigate the third floor galleries. |
Charting Your Course–Navigation at The Rooms
Guides and Cubs (ages 8 - 10) |

| Ever wonder what kind of tools early explorers used to navigate their ships? Take a close up look at some very unique tools from hundreds of years ago; create a water compass; develop your map and compass skills and do a little steering of your own as you navigate the Connections Gallery in search of the astrolabe! |

There's a $4.00 charge per child, but group leaders are free.
To give young people the best possible experience, the maximum number we can take at a time is 25 and we ask that groups of more than 20 have at least 2 Leaders to help out.
