Utilizing a wide range
of resources, this kit
engages students in an
investigation of the causes
for and impacts of the
government sponsored
resettlement programs that
took place during the 1950s,
60s and 70s. Students
examine what life was like
in communities prior to
resettlement, the dramatic
changes in the fishery that
took place during the 1940s
and 50s, the conditions and
factors that resulted in the
resettlement programs, and
the legacy of these
programs.
